What you should expect for your stay at Whispering Cedars is a clean, comfortable, quiet place of refuge. It is in the lower level of our home. Your accommodations include a bedroom with a king size bed, a private bathroom, and family room with a kitchenette. The bedroom and family room both have TV’s with Rokus. All linens are provided including towels and bedding, etc. The kitchenette is stocked with a Keurig, microwave, mini-fridge, toaster oven, coffee mugs, paper products including plates, bowls, and plasticware for your convenience as well as coffee, tea, creamer, and bottled water.

A simple continental breakfast is provided including things like hard boiled eggs, fruit, muffins, bagels, oatmeal and juice. We will also provide a few simple snacks. No other meals are provided except we would like to share one meal with you during your stay, our treat, if your schedule allows, just to get to know you a little bit. There is a gas grill available for your use if you want to grill out for a meal.

You will need to bring your own personal items including toiletries. There are some toiletries available if you forget something.

Whispering Cedars is in the small village of Butte Des Morts, just 10 minutes northwest of Oshkosh. You will have access to the backyard to just sit and relax and enjoy the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife. There are several biking/walking trails nearby as well as museums in Winneconne, Oshkosh, and Appleton. Lake Butte Des Morts is just a few blocks away and there is a public dock for fishing or launching a boat. Butte Des Morts has 2 nice restaurants within walking distance of Whispering Cedars and there are a plethora of restaurants within a 10-20 minute drive.

We want our guests to be able to focus on resting, relaxing, refreshing and restoring with as few distractions as possible, therefore, no children are allowed including nursing infants. Also, no animals are allowed at Whispering Cedars.

Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out time is 11:00 AM. We book by the day, meaning a two night stay is booked as 3 days. We ask that you stay a minimum of 2 days (1 night) with a maximum of 6 days (5 nights).

To book your stay you will need to first register in order to have access to the calendar. Once you have submitted your registration, we will grant you calendar access. Contact Whispering Cedars via email or by phone to reserve the dates you are interested in. All reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.

Your hosts, Doug and Bernie, are available to meet (if desired) with those needing a neutral listening ear in a safe environment free of judgement and expectation.
